PLC systems that keep the process clear and controllable.

Industrial Leader develops, upgrades and supports PLC control systems for production machinery, process plant, water assets and infrastructure. We connect the behaviour of the machine with the logic behind it, delivering structured programs, useful diagnostics and documented changes that your operations and maintenance teams can understand.

Start with the process, then write the program

Reliable automation needs an agreed description of how the equipment should operate. We review operating modes, start conditions, sequences, process limits and fault recovery with your team before programming. This gives everyone a common basis for development and testing, particularly when a new machine must work with existing upstream and downstream equipment.

  • Functional descriptions and sequence definitions
  • I/O mapping, equipment modules and consistent tag naming
  • Operator permissions, recipes and setpoint handling where required

Find the cause of recurring production faults

Intermittent stops may involve logic, field wiring, network devices, instrumentation or the process itself. We examine diagnostic records and operating conditions alongside the program. Changes are backed up, explained and tested against the original fault. Where evidence is incomplete, temporary logging can help distinguish a repeatable cause from a coincidental alarm.

  • CPU stops, I/O faults and industrial-network diagnostics
  • Sequence, interlock and communication investigations
  • Clearer fault messages and recovery guidance for operators

Modernise obsolete controls with a planned cutover

A migration should preserve the behaviours the plant needs while making future support easier. We review the existing software, field interfaces, communications, spare parts and downtime constraints before proposing an upgrade. Legacy Siemens and Rockwell systems can require hardware and network changes as well as code conversion; these dependencies belong in the plan from the outset.

  • Siemens TIA Portal and STEP 7 systems
  • Rockwell Studio 5000 and RSLogix platforms
  • Schneider, ABB and Omron support subject to model and project review

Prove the sequences before production depends on them

Testing is shaped around the machine, including normal operation, stops, restarts and credible equipment faults. Selected sequences can be simulated before site work as an agreed testing package. We document what has been checked and what still needs real process conditions. Safety-related changes require their own defined engineering and validation scope.

  • Factory and site acceptance criteria agreed in advance
  • HMI, drive and remote I/O integration checks
  • Shutdown readiness, cutover steps and rollback planning

Make the next maintenance task easier

At handover, your team receives the agreed program files, backups, revision records and operating information. We can also expose selected data for historian trends, remote monitoring or production analysis through a controlled interface. Reporting and AI advisory functions are separated from production control, so a useful data project does not become an uncontrolled change to the machine.

  • Maintainable code structure and useful comments
  • Change records and verified backup locations
  • Operator and maintenance review of the finished system

Questions about plc programming & upgrades

Can you work without the original PLC project?

We assess whether an authorised upload or recovery is possible. Available files depend on the controller, access protections and stored project. Comments, symbols and source code may be unavailable, so recovery and reconstruction are scoped after inspection.

Do you support existing equipment as well as new projects?

Yes. Our work includes troubleshooting, modest modifications, new sequences and full migrations. We review the installed hardware, software versions and access requirements before confirming the scope.

Can support be delivered remotely?

Where the site permits it and suitable access exists. We agree authorisation, access windows and responsibilities with your team; on-site attendance is arranged when field checks or commissioning require it.

Bring us the operating challenge.

Tell us about your site, equipment and intended outcome. We will help define a practical engineering scope.
